Privacy notice
How we use information about enquiries, orders and repairs.
Updated 19 October 2026.
Who looks after your information
Tamworth Computer Centre UK Ltd is responsible for the customer information described here. Contact sales@tamworth-computers.co.uk, call 01827 316131 or write to 5 Victoria Road, Tamworth, B79 7HL.
What we collect and why
When you enquire, request a quote, book a repair or order, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, phone number, email, address, device details, requested specification, messages and order references. Stripe supplies payment status, transaction references and checkout contact details. We do not receive your full card number or card security code.
We use these details to answer you, prepare quotes, fulfil orders, manage repairs, arrange collection and provide after-sales support. This processing is needed to take steps at your request or perform our agreement with you. Accounting and tax records are kept to meet legal obligations. We also use limited technical and order information for our legitimate interests in protecting the website, preventing fraud, resolving disputes and keeping accurate customer records.
We contact you about your enquiries, orders and repairs. Providing details here does not sign you up for marketing. Required form fields are needed to deal with your request; without them we may be unable to proceed.
Customer records and service providers
Website enquiries and paid orders may be transferred to our shop booking system. We create or link a customer record using contact details and review conflicting matches rather than deliberately merging different people. Relevant accounting information may be entered by our staff into Xero.
We use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare to host and protect the website, Stripe for payments, and Resend for automated service emails when enabled. Our email provider handles ordinary correspondence. If you choose WhatsApp, Meta/WhatsApp processes the messages under its own privacy terms. We share information with service providers as needed for these purposes, and with professional advisers or authorities where necessary or legally required. We do not sell customer information.
Some providers process information outside the UK. Where a restricted transfer occurs, applicable safeguards such as adequacy arrangements or approved contractual protections are required. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
How long information is kept
We keep information for the period needed to handle the enquiry, order, repair, warranty, accounting obligation or dispute. The period depends on the record and applicable legal requirements. We review information when it is no longer needed and delete or anonymise it, subject to necessary legal records and backup cycles. Ask us about a particular record or request deletion using the contact details above.
Cookies and browser storage
The site uses browser storage for functions such as your selected items, checkout recovery and private receipt access. Session storage may remember that the welcome animation has played. Hosting, security, staff sign-in and Stripe checkout may use cookies needed to provide their services. Clearing browser storage can remove saved choices and receipt access; contact us with your order reference if needed. External links and third-party pages have their own cookie notices. We do not use this notice as consent for optional advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access or correct your information, request erasure or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request portability. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Some records must be retained by law. We may need reasonable information to verify a request. Contact us if a linked customer record is incorrect. We do not use solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on customers.
If you are unhappy with how we use your information, contact us first. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
